Friends of Webster County

                                                     February 20, 2008

Dear Friends of Webster County,

It is that time of year once again! Our annual fundraising event, Swing into spring, is scheduled for May 2, 2008 in the ballroom at the Marian Estates. Our goal for this year’s event is to raise $50,000 to benefit Friends of Webster County. We have much work to do to achieve this goal, which is set at $10,000 above last year’s goal.

We are asking the entire business community for help in procuring auction items. Each year, we auction off approximately 300 items, thanks to the continuing support of our community. To meet our goal, we are asking that each of our supporters submit at least one item. We have created a brief list of popular items that were included in past auctions to assist you with ideas:

Vacation rentals – week, overnight, weekend
Rafting trips
Air miles
Restaurant gift certificates
Ski packages
Musical performances
Boat rental
Children’s play structures
Fishing gear
Spa packages
Photography
Financial/tax services
Housekeeping
Landscaping/lawn services
Jewelry
Palm pilot, other electronics
Works of art

Included in this packet are the following forms which will help in obtaining donations:
·         Event Information Sheet,
·         A Procurement Documentation Guide,
·         An Extended Auction Item Wish List,
·         Copies of Donation Forms (for each item donated),
·         And an Auction Flyer (for your business to display as you wish).

As always, we have a fun-filled, exciting evening in store for you and your families! Yours truly is preparing a presentation that depicts the impact of our organization on Webster County for your information and enjoyment. We will be selling copies of this presentation at a reduced price. If you have any question or comments, or would like to volunteer to help at this year’s auction, please contact me.

We look forward to a successful event, thanks to you and your support.

Sincerely,
Jory Black
Executive Director
